Obituary of Mary Broughton
BROUGHTON, Mary
February 25, 1923 – January 18, 2009
Mary Broughton of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Mary was born in Penarth, Wales on February 25, 1923, the youngest of ten siblings. She spent her early years working on a dairy farm, where she became a champion milkmaid. In 1959, she immigrated to Canada with her sister Constance and her niece Suzanne. Together they made a new life in Canada. Mary always worked hard, spending 26 years as a veterinary assistant at the 17th Avenue Animal Hospital. Mary is survived and will be terribly missed by her niece Suzanne (Michael) and her great-niece Rowan, along with a large extended family in England and Wales. Mary dearly loved her animal companions, and will now join Belle, Nova, Teak, and Boy-Boy on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
