Obituary of Dorys Lindseth
Dorys C. Lindseth of Calgary passed away, in the peace of her home and the loving company of her husband Roy and her children, at the age of 79 years. She was a great mother to Leonard, Pamela, Delinda, Reinisa and Vincent, a doting grandmother to Signoree, Rafaela, Angela, Ellysa, Christian and Ysabella, and a devoted and loving wife to John H. Smith (deceased) and subsequently Roy O. Lindseth.
She was born in Neiva, Huila, Colombia. In 1953, as a young bride she accompanied husband John Smith to his native Canada. Dorys braved the Canadian cold to raise five children, bowl, play a mean game of Bridge and instil her Latin love of life in all those around her. She found the time and energy to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Toronto, and then dedicated countless volunteer hours to helping others as Coordinator of the Halton Regional Crisis Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Later, with Roy in Calgary and Sugarmill Woods, Florida, she continued her avid pursuit of tennis and golf. In her life she was a kind and gentle soul of exemplary character who provided just the right measure of parenting and advice to her brood and unflagging support to her husband. Her tender looks, loving arms and gentle manner will be sorely missed by all whom she left behind.
