Obituary
Obituary of Joseph Kamalich
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and valiant battle with a chronic illness. He now rests in peace with the Lord. Left to mourn him are his wife of fifty-nine years Maria Rose; along with three daughters, Milena, Jienine (Howard) and Maria Konceta; and seven grandchildren.
Joseph (Joe) was born in a small fishing village of Valun, Croatia. He served bravely in the Second World War. He immigrated to Regina, SK in 1960 with his family to fulfill his dreams for a better life for them. His passion was woodworking from a very young age. He was a shipbuilder and then became a master craftsman in his finishing carpentry trade. Joe retired to Calgary in 1982 to be near his daughters and grandchildren whom he loved and they adored their “Baba”. He was a gentle, brave, courageous and supportive man who continued to give from his heart and provide for his family in all aspects of life until the very end. His humour and wit, his gentle yet spirited soul will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
