Obituary of James Kent MALERNEE

Kent Malernee of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the age of 93 years.

 

Kent, an engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry moved his family to Calgary 56 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Norma and his two sons, Jim and Robert.

 

Kent was raised in Colorado, where he developed his passions for horsemanship, hunting and fishing. He loved baseball, and was a star pitcher in high school. Before moving to Calgary, he lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Throughout his life he has a broad variety of interests. Kent loved cares and racing them. He was a licensed amateur radio operator, K5WWA. He was interested in leather-working, and enjoyed playing golf and fly-tying for fishing. He loved flying and was an avid private pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings. Kent was a graduate in engineering from the University of Colorado and a Navy Vet from WWII.
