Obituary of Bruce ADLINGTON

Bruce Adlington of Calgary, AB, beloved husband of Jan Pearce, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 65 years.

Bruce was born in Calgary and grew up on an acreage in Springbank, a setting which nurtured his lifelong love of the outdoors and adventures.  He had a passion for dirt biking with his brothers Bob, Tom and friends, motorcycle camping and mountain biking with his wife Jan, paddling a canoe handcrafted by his father Ken, and cross-country skiing with the Foothills Nordic Ski Club.  Later in life he discovered a whole new avenue for self-expression as an actor in many community theatre plays.  

Bruce enjoyed his thirty year career with TELUS, followed by fifteen joyful years during which he brought 1,432 couples together as an Alberta marriage commissioner.  He was especially happy to officiate at stepson Kevin’s (Tamara), and niece Tobi’s (Landon) weddings.  Bruce also turned his mechanical and carpentry skills into renovation work later in life.  

Bruce will always be remembered for his long and heartfelt hugs, his impactful conversations, and his willingness to help anyone.  

Besides his loving wife Jan, Bruce is survived by his mother Lorraine; stepsons, Russell (Ashley) and Kevin (Tamara); grandchild Mack; sister Kathy (Glenn); brothers Bob (Cathy) and Tom; and numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousins, with whom he had many special relationships.
