Condolences
I worked with Melvin back in the 90's at the bus company. He was a cool cat, always made me laugh. he drove his bus like a professional, and always had great stories. overall good man.
Melvin and I trained for RCMP in Regina and from there we became good friends. He was a good powwow singer. When I went to Morley powwow, we would always visit and catch up on different pow wows we attended.
I lost a good friend as well.
Melvin was a great singer. I asked him to come sing with me many times and each time he was like, "why me?". Well he had such vibrato that high noon old style voice. Nakoda Lodge Singers will miss him and thank him for his teachings, humble support and that friendly wave as he drove by in the water truck. God Speed .....
Melvin was a generous mentor to our grandson, Sylvester. He helped Sylvester in a great many ways. When our grandson passed away, Melvin was a kind and gentle spiritual support. He helped our family cope with our great and sudden loss. We will be forever thankful for his quiet leadership. Thankful you are released from physical pain now, Melvin. May you and Sylvester enjoy new talks together in the Happy Hunting ground. Lawrence Daniels, Mary Stacey and family
