Obituary of David Haddington JEEVES

April 28, 1930 – Toronto, Ontario
March 18, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of David Haddington Jeeves on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness at the age of 89.

Dave was born on April 28, 1930 in Toronto to proud parents Rita and Leo.  He was soon followed by his brother Barry.  The family eventually moved to Montreal where Dave started his career as a Salesman.  This career took Dave to Winnipeg in 1966 and then on to Calgary in 1971.  Dave loved his job as he said he met so many friends through his customers.  During Dave’s life he was a proud member of the Black Watch, and the Scottish Rite where he accomplished 32 degrees.  He was also a long-serving member of the Masons where he advanced to Grand Master, and the Shriners where he was involved in the motorcycle Corp and rode in the Stampede parades.  In later years, Dave was a proud volunteer and member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 285.  He was a wonderful and devoted husband, amazing father and great friend.

He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Jeeves (Randal Johnston) and Barbara Smaha (Brian Smaha); his son-in-law Bill McClintock, as well as nieces and nephews.  Dave was predeceased by his parents and brother, his loving wife Helen, his beautiful daughter Marjorie and his beloved dogs (Trish, Pepper, Megan and Buddy).

A Celebration of Dave’s life will be announced at a later date.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Dave’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

The family would like to thank the kind staff of Rockyview General Hospital Unit 83 for taking such good care of him over recent weeks.
Special thanks go to his awesome neighbours for watching out for our Dad over the years.  Finally, we are truly grateful for the amazing friends and staff at Brewster’s Bonavista where Dave loved to raise a glass with his many wonderful and dear friends.
