Obituary of Barbara Ethel SIMINGTON

September 16, 1933 – Bangor, Saskatchewan
March 27, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Barbara Simington, beloved mother, and grandmother passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at the age of 86 years.

Barbara always had an interest in looking good, Nice clothes,  hair styled, lipstick on etc, which made her feel good about herself.  She enjoyed going out with her son Dwayne, to shop, and to get a hamburger and fries.  She always loved a good hamburger.  When the holiday season came around she always made sure she had gifts to give even though she didn’t have much money to spend.

In earlier years Barbara loved visiting her grandchildren, daughter, and son-in-law in Victoria BC even though she had a fear of flying.

In the last few years, she found pleasure in some of the simpler things in her life.  Things like seeing the same faces each day where she lived, or when her Daughter Dana would come to visit from Victoria she found great comfort in spending the afternoon with her and cuddling with Dana’s dog bailey.

Every Sunday was also an important day for Barbara as it was the weekly time she and her son would spend together, sometimes not saying much but just being in the same room together was enough.

Barbara accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of raising three children and seeing them have healthy happy lives.  Her children were all sick when young and because of her and her husband's hard work they are healthy adults.

Barbara's passion was being around family, which was the utmost for her and made her the happiest. Having said that she did like a good shopping spree too.

Barbara is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Dana Woollard and John Woollard of Victoria BC and Nadine Simington of Calgary AB; her son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne Simington and  Laura Assis of Calgary; and her grandchildren Jordan Woollard and Jesse Woollard; as well as numerous cousins, and friends.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Juliana and Frank; her brothers, Alex Kormos, Frank Kormos, Albert Kormos, and George Kormos, and her sisters, Mary Kormos, Helen Kormos, Judy Kormos, and Bertha “Bunny” Kormos.
