Obituary of Colin Richard GUTOR

January 18, 1971 – Regina, Saskatchewan
July 16, 2020 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of their beloved son, brother and uncle on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the age of 49 years.

Colin was born in 1971 in Regina, SK, the first son of Richard (who passed away January 5th, 2019) and Lynda. After graduating from Miller High School in Regina, Colin moved to Calgary in 1989 to begin a new life attending University of Calgary. Colin began his career working in the computer data and service industry, where he spent almost ten years. His ambitions took him back to school to SAIT Polytechnic, where he completed a Geomatics (Surveying) Engineering Technologist Diploma in 2012. Colin graduated with honors and was appointed to the Board of Governors for his leadership and dedication to the program. Colin spent many years in the surveying industry working successful roles at various companies including McElhanney Land Surveys Ltd, Can-Am Geomatics Calgary, and Gas Recon Calgary. Most recently, Colin started a very promising position at Canadian Locators Inc.  Colin gave back to his community, spending countless hours volunteering at the Mustard Seed. We will all miss him. He will be remembered by friends and family as a fun, charismatic personality that fought and won many life challenges. Colin is survived by his mother Lynda, brother Chad (Charmaine); his nephew Chase; and nieces, Chloe and Charley; and several extended family of uncles, aunts and many cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Family's Home. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Colin's obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
