Obituary of Dennis YARROW

May 22, 1939 – Selkirk, Manitoba
August 3, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Dennis Yarrow beloved husband of Mary “Louise” Yarrow (nee Andrew) of Calgary, AB, passed away after four years of battling cancer on August 3, 2020 at the age of 81 years.

Dennis was born in Selkirk, MB on May 22, 1939 and moved to Calgary with his parents in 1941. Dennis left school at 16 and started work for Canadian Pacific Railway as an apprentice heavy-duty mechanic. He spent forty-four years at CP and ended his career as a supervisor at Ogden Shops in 1999.

In 1993, Louise forced him to take a cruise and he enjoyed it so much another twenty-nine cruises followed to the Caribbean, British Isles, South America, Australia twice, the Baltic, the Panama Canal twice, Alaska three times, Canada/New England in fall colours also a river boat cruise and for our fiftieth anniversary a cruise to French Polynesia. We also traveled to resorts to Costa Rica and Mexico several times. Dennis and I made many friends through travel who we still keep in contact with.

Dennis was very proud of his family, their accomplishments, and all the family times camping, celebrating birthdays and watching his grandsons grow into young men. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-two years Louise, daughters, Tracy (Troy), and Heather; and grandsons, Connor and Danny; sisters, MaryLynne, Diane, and Sharleen; and brother David. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Sylvia Yarrow; and brother Joe.
