Obituary of Fiorentino GIORDANO

January 2, 1929 – Salerno, Province of Campania, Italy

August 9, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Fiorentino Giordano, beloved husband of Giovanna Giordano, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at the age of 91 years.

Fiorentino was born in Salerno province, Italy and immigrated to Gleichen, AB with his wife and two sons in 1959. He then moved his family, which now included two young daughters, to Calgary in 1965. Fiore worked at the Calgary Catholic School District for thirty years where he was known and loved as "Mr. G." He had a big and generous heart and will be dearly missed. 

Besides his loving wife Giovanna, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Linda, and Ralph and Diane; and two daughters and one son-in-law, Lucia and Vic, and Rita; six grandchildren and their spouses, Coralee and Danny, Brett, Trevor, Justin, Cory and Emma, and Chris; and four great-grandchildren, Logan, Austin, Parker and Brandon. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
