Obituary of Olga Betty Mary MORGAN

January 21, 1935 – Lamont, Alberta
August 3, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Olga Morgan, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the age of 85 years.

Olga was born to Mary (nee Urchyshyn) and Albert Rakowski. She lived in Star, AB, until she moved to Edmonton and then Calgary in the 1940’s. Olga met and dated her husband, Hal in 1950. In 1951 Hal moved out to Vancouver and was involved in an accident and became a quadriplegic. The two reunited in 1968, married in 1971 and were together until Hal’s passing in 1996. Olga was a wonderful wife and exceptional care giver to Hal. He was the love of her life and her best friend.

Olga worked at Burns Packing Plant for several years. Later she helped Hal with their taxi business doing the bookkeeping, while Hal handled the dispatch. Her last job, before her retirement in 1989, was working at a local doctor’s office.

Olga was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed travelling and going on road trips with Hal and her children and she loved gardening. She had so many gorgeous flowers and took great pride in her yard. Olga was also an amazing cook. She made the best perogies and cabbage rolls and loved hosting and bringing family together for food.

Olga is survived by her children and their spouses, Debbie Matthew, Cindy Girwald and Ian Lloyd, Mel and Karna Wolfe, and Derek and Angie Wolfe; her grandchildren, Leah Girwald, Laura, Morgan and Mitchell Wolfe, and Tyler and Kristi Wolfe; and siblings, Kathy (Ezio) Palese, and Helen Kaliciak; as well and many nieces,nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Albert Rakowski, her step-father Martin Pazak, her sister Louise Buckley, her son-in-law Rob Matthew, and her brothers-in-law, Mike Kaliciak and Norm Morgan.
