Obituary of Gordon Hugh BURFITT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father, grandfather and brother, Gordon Burfitt on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the age of 77 years. He passed peacefully at Foothills Medical Centre after a courageous, yet short battle with cancer.  

Gordon was born on February 6, 1943, in Calgary, AB to Edna and Steven Burfitt. Gordon had a love of travel and was able to see the world, both through his work as a professional engineer and for pleasure.  He settled to make a home in both Arizona and Alberta with plans to finally enjoy retirement in Carmangay, AB.  

Gordon will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Niki (Jeff) Afseth, Jacki (Jason) Primeau, and Jaylene; and his six grandchildren, Kali, Breanna, Katie, Garrett, Hunter and Haylee.  Also left to mourn is his brother Don (Shirley) Burfitt, and sister Donna (Arden) Bradford, as well as Jackie’s family in Eastern Canada, Deborah (Harold) Keough, Noreen Dwyer and Paul (Maureen) Abbott; along with many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Jackie and his parents Edna and Steven.

We would like to thank the staff at Foothills Medical Centre, Unit 102 and Palliative Care for their support and care of our father during his brief stay.
