Obituary of Derril Dennis BURTON

Derril Burton, beloved husband of Debra Burton (nee Irwin) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the age of 76.

Derril was born in Calgary, AB, in Forest Lawn on March 16, 1944. His first love was for cars, and he loved driving them. He also enjoyed washing and waxing them, he was great when it came to painting and restoring them. Derril pursued his passion for vehicles by selling them for over 30 years.  He won many salesmen of the year awards at LynnWood Chev Olds. Derril also enjoyed playing cards, entertaining and baseball. He was ‘Mr. Fix It’ when it came to home renovations, he was always painting and building something that needed repair. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping, fishing, and enjoyed a nice ride on the quad. Derril enjoyed watching hockey and always cheering on the Calgary Flames. He was a fan of Elvis and enjoyed playing his music loudly, this would get him on the dance floor and “CUT A RUG.” Derril would always dress his best. At 59, Derril had a heart transplant, which lasted until his passing from heart failure 16 years later.

Besides his loving wife Debbie, Derril is survived by his daughter Jodi (LeeAnn), his granddaughter Katelyne, grandson Kole, and his son Les. As well as numerous extended family and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Please note that masks will be required to be worn at the service.
