Condolences
Dear Gord, Ali and Jordan, Randall and Danielle, (Beatrix, Marigold), Dan and Melanie (Joshua, Peter, Mathew) , Beverly, Jim and family, Brenda and family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing! He was such a lovely gentleman. We have wonderful memories of great meals, and card games (Poker and Guts) at Barb and Gord's. Jim and June were always there adding to the fun. We were so impressed with Jim's playing hockey into his late 80's. The last time we spoke, we were hoping to get together over the summer and have a fiddle tune - but due to COVID, we thought we should hold off a bit longer. I am so sorry that we missed our chance. He will be missed. You are all in our thoughts and prayers,
Debbie, Frank, Andrea and Ryan Brakke.
Dear Beverly and Brenda,
Cynthia and I are deeply saddened to learn of your father’s passing. We would like to express our sincere condolences and sympathy to you and your family and to all his extended relatives and friends.
We enjoyed knowing your father and mother during the years we were all members of the same fellowship. Both your parents were loyal and dedicated church members and devotion to their faith was exemplary. Your mom and dad were very generous in music and congregational serving in many different capacities and their quiet manner of contributions and supportive leadership was commendable.
Jim was the type to greet one with a generous smile and firm handshake. He had a fine sense of humour and when conversations included amusing anecdotes he would laugh heartily. His active participation in sports well up into his senior years is legendary. Jim truly enjoyed being engaged in discussing sports and indeed, this was often serious business. I personally marvelled at his treasure trove of knowledge and information, especially about our local NHL team. From player personalities and skills to team prognostications he was well informed and insightful.
Both Cynthia and I had the pleasure of joining Jim on the golf course for a number of seasons. Being newbies to the game he was most accommodating as a seasoned player. His modelling of course etiquette was helpful and his patience was unending. From him we observed that accuracy is more important than distance and self loathing does nothing to help an errant shot. He truly was a man of fine character.
Rest in peace Jim and June, we appreciated knowing and spending time with for too brief a time. You both were wonderful and esteemed people and we feel privileged that our journey of life crossed paths.
Most sincerely,
Ron and Cynthia Langlo
