Condolences
Dear Bev and Family:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. May your many beautiful memories bring you much peace in the days ahead. As a couple you have accomplished much along life's way and you truly complimented each other. However, even with all of these many accomplishments Gerry maintained his sense of humility, honesty, kindness and respect for all which are truly the most important qualities one can possess. He was certainly greatly admired by many and we felt privileged to get to know you both.
Take good care of yourselves.

Sending my sympathy to Bev and family. Gerry was a special friend. Betty (Paterson) Charlesworth.
Several years ago, I had the great pleasure of being invited to a family reunion hosted by Gerry and Bev, and their family. I had heard wonderful things about Gerry, as he was one of my mom’s very, very dear cousins. I knew he was a highly accomplished individual, but to see him in action that weekend really told the tale. He had everything planned out to the nth degree. It was quite simply, perfection. One of the moments that stuck out most in my mind, was the bus tour we took through his old haunts. The pride in his voice as we rolled up to his boyhood home, the laughter when he told us him and his friends would leave their ponies tied up under the coolness of a bridge when they skipped off to an afternoon move. I did a lot of thinking about that little boy that came from such simple roots, and the dream he perused. The kind of grit, smarts and tenacity, tempered with old fashioned values and human qualities it would have taken to make the life he did. Of course, the most successful part of Gerry, was clearly his marriage to Bev, his pride and joy Gord and Graham, along with Traci and Karen, and his grandchildren. To Bev and all of your family, I am so, so sorry for your loss. Gerry was an incredible human being, on many, many levels. The legacy he left, but mostly the love he had for all of you, will always live on.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. He was a steadfast friend to my father and to our whole family. Gerry was a kind, principled person with an excellent sense of humor and a strong love and commitment to family. He will be missed by so many. Michele Moore
I have just posted a message of care to Bev and the boys but seems to have disappeared so will post again . My memories are of Bev and Gerry taking my parents out to the “farm” maybe on the black and white trail and how thoughtful it was. Joanne and Gordon ( Simmy) Simmons were best friends of Jenne and Gordon May
I also want to say how much Vern Collard respected Gerry and that they were Redlicff boys . Luncheons and tours of Highwood. He leaves a great legacy and was taken too soon . Thinking of you Bev ! Peggy ( May) Schieman and Erv .
We are saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. He was a pure "class act", a gentle MAN, as well as Gentleman, a model
Albertan and Canadian. Our condolences to Bev and Family, Love Jane and Dale Birdsell
My friend Gerry Berkhold was the true definition of a gentleman, he had a deep abiding love for the land and maintained a strong connection to his roots. We travelled many prairie miles together checking cows mostly by truck and then by side X side which he liked and disliked at the same time. We discussed cattle, fences, politics history and a shared countless life stories along the trail.
Wendy and I have such wonderful memories of our Christmas dinner dates with Gerry and Beverly…

We knew Gerry to be a kind, generous, unassuming man and greatly admired him for his love of life, family and community.
We are so saddened by his passing and will miss our conversations, tongues in cheek humour and the smile he so generously shared with everyone.
Beverly please know that we are thinking about you and the family and send our heartfelt condolences for your loss.
