Obituary of Beverley Aimee Sterna (nee Ould)

August 29, 1934 - Winnipeg, Manitoba

October 12, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Beverley Sterna of Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the age of 87 years.

Beverley (Bev) was born in Winnipeg, MB on August 29, 1934. She married Donald Sterna in 1955 and they subsequently moved to Vancouver, BC, and then Calgary, AB, in the course of building out their business.

Bev’s greatest joy was being a mother and spent much of her life as a homemaker until her sons got older when Bev returned to the workforce where she worked at D’Allards women’s clothing store. Bev loved helping customers and the social aspect of engaging with her co-workers, some of who she cherished and kept in touch with right up to the end of her life. Bev also enjoyed attending church, where she volunteered and participated in many small groups over the course of her life.

Beverley will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sheila Sterna, and their sons, Sean and Heath, and Sean’s wife Anita, and their two daughters, Kaitlyn and Chloe; Bev’s son and daughter-in-law, David and Melissa Sterna, and their daughter Kyla and two sons Deacon and Levi. Beverley is also survived by her brother Phillip Ould and his wife Marlene of Winnipeg, MB, and her sister Norma Plowman of Calgary, AB. Beverley was predeceased by her parents, Percy and Beatrice Ould and her brother-in-law, William Plowman.
