After High School Gail began her lifelong career in banking and eventually moved back to Edmonton where she married Mel Kowlachuk on April 24, 1971. On October 27, 1973, her only child, Darin was born, he was the light of her life. Their lives were filled with memories that revolved around their shared family love of sports with a focus on baseball and the Edmonton Trappers organization. In her later years she returned to Calgary where she lived for the last 26 years. She loved to be of service to others and would open her doors to be there to support family, friends and neighbours when in need. She also became actively involved in the Kinettes of Calgary and their charitable work.

She will be missed for her lifelong friendships, her belly laughs, the love she showed to family and the world. But above all, the little things that mattered and were important to her, that may have gone unnoticed, until now.
