Obituary of Bryden Joseph Goodwill

November 19, 2007– Calgary, Alberta

September 28, 2022– Calgary, Alberta

Wapiskaw Mahihkan, “White Wolf”, member of the 212 Crew Bikers Against Bullying AKA ‘DAWG’ started his journey home in the morning of September 28, 2022, at the age of 14 years old.

Bryden was a member of Peepeekisis First Nation, although Standing Buffalo Indian Reserve held a special place in his heart, as this is where his Papa Floyd resides. Bryden had a passion for music, and it was shown by his quick ability to learn to play instruments. Bryden played the violin, guitar, keyboard, and sang. He will be dearly missed by his mom and best friend Becky Goodwill, and his siblings, Mason, Sadie-Marie, Ophelya, Maggie-May, and Hayden-jo. Bryden will also be missed by his best buddy Cohen, and his father Robert “Chubbz” Bourque. Bryden will be remembered fondly by his maternal grandparents, Wanda & Papa Floyd Goodwill; Mushom Perry & Kukom Grace McLeod, Uncle DJ, and Jeremy McLeod; aunts and cousins, Lesley, Nevada, Catherine “Turkey Legs”, Kyra “Bugzy”, Lakota, Lindsey, Mackenzie “frijoles”, Carsonsage, Payton-Jay, Zoey, Amaya, Jennifer (Roy) Tristan, Madison & Shelby, Caroline, Chaska, Darius “Wagon-Wheel”, Floyd (Lorrie) Troy, Aiden, and Anthony.

Bryden was a very kind, loving, and devoted son, brother, and cousin. He was old beyond his years, first asking to Sundance at the age of 9. Throughout these years he has built an extraordinary relationship with Papa Dad Floyd. He wholeheartedly loved everyone he met, he was a genuine human being and would give the shirt off his back. Bryden was his mom’s rock; he would say to his mom that she was “my stars, my world, my moon… my everything.” He was patient with his siblings, always baking and thinking about them first. Bryden was always an extraordinary big brother.

Bryden held close to his heart his pets, Bad Bunny, and Bosley. He had a special bond with his furry best friends. Bryden was a strong advocate for Mental Health and Indigenous issues and was known to hold a sign and always be down for a peaceful protest with his family. Bryden was humble beyond belief. Sticks & stones and his imagination was all he needed, is what he would say. There was no limit to his creative imagination and determination. Bryden was well known for his humorous spirit, his love was felt by all.

Wake Services will be held on October 5, 2022, at the old daycare on Standing Buffalo I.R. 78 at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will commence on October 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at the Wanakepew United Church on Peepeekisis FN.
