Robin May

Obituary of Robin Francis May

September 5, 1946 - September 30, 2022

Robin Francis May, beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 76 years.

Born in Nipawin, SK, Robin lived most of his life in Calgary, where he and his wife of 52 years, Brenda, raised their two children, Jennifer and Chris.

Upon retiring from a successful career in the oil and gas industry, Robin made the most of his retirement. He travelled with Brenda to destinations near and far, but he enjoyed the peace and beauty of their home and acreage most of all. In the colder months, he could often be found enjoying a book with a dog or two at his feet or working on his golf swing in the basement. The warmer months found him on the golf course, working in the yard, and wondering why his golf swing wasn’t yielding the results he was after. Must be the clubs.

Those who knew Robin knew him to be warm and generous, with an easygoing manner. He always had something interesting to say, had a wry sense of humour and enjoyed a good laugh. Robin loved the peaceful life that he and Brenda created together. Perhaps Robin’s greatest joy came from watching his kids raise their families. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, who adored their “Pa”, and was proud of all their accomplishments. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
