Condolences
My sympathy to you Viv and Laurier's family . I was with Laurier and Bill Mooses , we never had to coax Laurier to play the piano , a good time never forgotten.
My sincere condolences on Laurier’s passing. Though we connected only very briefly over the past 50+ years, I can honestly say that Laurier was very much an inspiration to me in my piano playing during my mid teens. He taught me his rendition of “The House of the Rising Sun”, which is still my favourite song and one of the few I can still remember how to play when I sit down at the piano.
Viv, Rina Jean and all of Laurier's family, sorry for your loss. Special memories of the times growing up in Coleman. Once in the Saloon in Kalispell in the late sixties there was an old piano in the corner and Laurier would start playing. Moose came over with a pitcher of beer and said tell him to keep playing and I will keep bringing you beer. And he did and a good time was had by all with plenty of appreciation from the crowd.
Yellowknife memories: Laurie had great fun driving his Bronco, on and off the road to sand near long Lake, all of us screaming and laughing. I also remember Laurie taking us on a similar tour of the ice road on Lake.
