Condolences
Excellent photo of Gord! I didn’t know him, when he had so much hair and such a wonderful big smile. I met Gord through Don, on the golf courses around Calgary for a few years, prior to COVID. I will always associate orange golf balls with Gord. Though we were a little loose with scoring and the rules of golf, it was usually, a good outing and culminated with beer and wings, often at the Lighthouse in Deer Run.
We had to be very careful with the direction of conservation, at the pub. Great efforts were made to avoid engineering in general and vector mechanics in particular. Gord was very passionate about these subjects.
As we age, our many achievements are forgotten or not even known. Though I never really knew Gord, his contributions to family, society and humanity in general should never be forgotten.
Happy travels,
Colin
My condolences to Samantha and Scott and the Barrington family. I have great memories of Gord. He was a great guy.
SGB was a wonderful friend and colleague for over 34 years. I will miss him but we have many great memories. My condolences to your family Gord.
I would like to share my condolences with Gord's family. I met Gord through the Calgary Stampede and shared many enjoyable times together. If anything needed doing Gord was always one of the first to volunteer. I wll miss our many hours talking about past experiences and putting the world to rights as well as his positive outlook on life and the encouragement that he gave me.
Knew Gord through his work at Chem Security on hazardous waste disposal and I was always impressed with his calm demeanor and sense of humor. He was also very well respected by his fellow engineers.
May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family
Byron Birch, P. Eng.
