Obituary of Elizabeth Alice Richardson
February 17, 1928 – Carnforth, Lancashire, England
July 20, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta
Elizabeth Alice Richardson, beloved mother, passed quietly away on July 20, 2023, after spending a few years in long term care which she handled with dignity, courage, and grace.
The greatest part of her working life was as a bank teller. She was an avid reader with a longtime interest in antiquity, especially Egyptian.
Elizabeth was a loving, kind, and helpful person who will be sorely missed by all who knew her and referred to her as a great lady.
She was predeceased by her husband Nelson Gerald Thomas Richardson (whom she met in England during World War II), and her son Nelson Andrew Richardson. She is survived by her son John Michael Richardson, as well as many out of province relatives.
Elizabeth was a quiet, thoughtful, and private person who would not have wanted a formal service. Her son would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Carewest George Boyack who looked after her with care, patience, and respect. Her son would also like to thank the family friends who have been so helpful during this trying time.
In living memory of Elizabeth Richardson, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Heritage, 1708 – 16th Avenue NW, Calgary, AB, T2M 0L7, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
