Obituary of Doris Ann Thayer

Doris Ann Thayer (nee Reishus), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the age of 101 years.
She was born in Drumheller, AB, and lived most of her adult life in California, USA, moving back to Calgary, AB, at 100 years old to be closer to family. Doris was married for a short time to James Thayer, he predeceased her at an early age. She said, “he was a real good guy!”
Doris was an energetic and spicy gal. She loved the sunshine, walking, music, good food, and above all red wine. She would attend the Calgary Stampede every year! At 100 years old she was walking ten kilometers a day at a fast pace accompanied by her speedy walker for support.
Doris was an accomplished Royal Conservatory Grade Nine Pianist. She had a variety of professions throughout her life including being in the US Navy during WWII.
Doris is survived by her sister Gloria Morse, niece Lynn Brunton (Zack Straker), nephews Fraser Morse, Randy Park (Wendy Swinton), Craig Park, Kim Park; nine great-nieces, and nephews, eight great-great-nieces, and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her husband Jim, good friend, and companion Bob, parents Odin and Nellie Reishus; sister Luverne Reishus, and Lucille Park; brothers-in-law Ray Morse, and Ray Park
