A picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes. So here’s to a life well lived--the picture was taken in July of 2022 when we were delighted and happy to have a visit over lunch with you, Lucy, and with Jim. Jim and Dad were cousins, and Jim was one of Dad’s favourites. It has been a pleasure to keep in touch with you over the years. Sayounara, and God bless you Jim.
I am sorry to hear about my cousin Jim’s passing.
Although we haven’t seen each other in years, we spent many happy times together as children in Calgary. We were born just 2 weeks apart.
Sunday dinners were spent together with the family and we got up to all the mischief boys of that age could. In my memory, it was my older cousin, ‘Little Jim’, who led us into these shenanigans. Little Jim was a great cousin to me and my sister, Alice.
Reading the stories and anecdotes about Jim describe a wonderful life full with close family, fun and lots of adventure… including high speed racing! Knowing this makes me smile.
My condolences to Lucy and the family. We are in Texas now, and thinking about the old days together back in Calgary as our younger selves.
The photo features Elsie and Jim with Little Jim, and my mother Agnes and me.
Fondly,
Cousin Bruce Jones
