Condolences
Grandpa was such an inspiration to me in so many ways. He was incredibly talented. He could do anything, including guitar playing, gardening, building anything, cooking, and more! He lived life to the fullest. He played in a travelling band up until his 90s, bringing joy to others. I have many many fond memories. I hope you are up there singing and strumming with Taffey at your feet!
Approximately 15 years ago I needed a guitarist for my band "Peter and Pals". A musician suggested I contact a "John Dyck" unbeknownst to me. I met John and asked him how good a guitarist he was. John is a very humble man. He answered, "I know most of my minor and seventh chords and a few augmented and diminished ones as well. That was good enough for me as most guitarists that I knew barely used any but basic chords. I tested John at my next gig and my band members all agreed that John was the best guitarist we ever had. John was 85 then. He performed for me for over 10 years. He was an integral part of Peter and Pals and a good friend of my wife, Myrna and I.
Our condolences go to all of John's family.
