So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. Treasure the memories, he was one of a kind. My friend and I washed so many dishes for Pat at church functions. It was hard work, but he always made us laugh and made sure we were fed with his fantastic meals.

I had a number of lunches with Pat at your place where he taught me about literature, music and film. He was one of the most interesting people I’ve ever known. Pat offers us so many memories as Maria's steadfast supporter and biggest fan. The legacy of their relationship is such an inspiration. We got to know Pat vicariously through Maria, and he lived up to Maria's stories every time we met him in person. It was an honour for my family to be able to spend time with Pat at an unforgettable evening during Christmas time. He took us in at a time when our family needed it most. There are reminders of Pat everywhere: overhearing a booming laugh, picking apart a fresh leaf of basil, watching a beautiful sunset, noticing a teenager sharing his pizza with a friend - these all happened to me in the past few days and I couldn't help but think of Pat. Even though I wasn’t with the family for a long period. I was lucky enough to call you, my brother. You were an amazing individual. Your laughter, your jokes.
