Obituary of Pamela Rani Dhanoa

With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Pamela “Pam” Rani Dhanoa of Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the age of 66 years.

Pam was born on May 31, 1958, in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, to Malwinder Kaur Samra and the late Piara Singh Samra. She began her nursing career at CMC Hospital in Ludhiana before moving to Calgary, AB, in 1988, where she continued to touch lives as a dedicated nursing attendant. Pam’s career was defined by her boundless compassion, selflessness, and unwavering dedication. These attributes extended beyond her professional life, seeping into her personal life as well. She never said no to anyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand, reflecting her generous spirit and kindness in every aspect of her life. The warmth and joy she brought to those around her will be deeply missed.

Pam’s love for her family was immense and unending. She deeply cherished her daughter Nav Deep Dhaliwal (Ranbir Singh), her son Tarandeep Dhanoa, and found immense joy in her granddaughter Reet. She was also a beloved godmother to Simleen Mehta (Amit), and their son Tanmay, of Australia. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit were a guiding light for her family, extending to her numerous nieces and nephews. Pam was the second oldest of four siblings and was preceded in death by her younger sister Jatinder Kaur Cheema (late Amar Singh). She is survived by her brothers, Paramjit Singh Samra (Gurmeet Kaur) and Gurpinder Singh Samra (Harkirat Kaur), as well as her husband Baljit Singh Dhanoa, to whom Pamela married in 1987.

Pam's legacy of love, care, compassion, and service will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. To honour her memory, Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB. Within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a Prayer Service at the Sikh Society of Calgary Gurudwara (739 81 St SW, Calgary, AB). The presence of all who knew and loved Pam will be a testament to the profound impact she had on so many lives.
