Obituary of Allan James McPhedran

Allan “Al” McPhedran, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the age of 70 years, in his hometown of Calgary, AB.

Al was born on August 3, 1953, in Calgary and spent his entire life there. He graduated from Western Canada High School and enjoyed a career as a truck driver for more than 40 years. He was proud of his achievements. Al had a passion for camping, reading, playing crib, and spending time with his family and friends. He had a special love for campfire conversations, camping games, and playing darts. Al cherished his memorable vacations to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and various destinations throughout Canada the U.S.

Al was the beloved husband of Vicki McPhedran, a loving father to his son Patrick (Brittany) and daughter Jennifer (Steve). He was blessed with four grandchildren, Karissa, Aniyah, Stephen, and Brinsley, who brought joy and happiness to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Arlie Mahood, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Al was predeceased by his mother Milly McPhedran and father James McPhedran.

A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held at the Forest Lawn Legion (Branch 275, 755 40 St SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. A Reception to follow until 5:00 p.m.

A special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff at the South Health Campus Hospital.

Al will be most remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and generosity. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Al.
