Obituary of Mary Mills

Mary Mills, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the age of 94 years, in Calgary, AB.

Born in Easington, County Durham, England, Mary was known for her love of knitting, reading, and playing board games and bridge. She was a passionate homemaker and enjoyed attending shows at Stage West and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children, Janette Mills Fabro (Adrian), Nigel Bernard Mills (Cheryl), and Judith Bewer (Mark). She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Lisa-Marie Holgate, Andrea Janette Strandquist, Sarah Margaret Sharma, and Shea Allen Mills; as well as her seven great-grandchildren.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Mills, and her mother, Florence May Jones.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, caregivers, and staff on the third floor of Garrison Green for their constant support and care for Mary during her time there.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Mary will be most remembered for her love for her family, her passion for homemaking, and her memorable vacations on cruises with friends. Mary also loved to dance on any and every special occasion. She was known to be the first on the dance floor, always impeccably dressed. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
