Obituary of Kelvin Christopher James Rollinmud-Flemming
February 9, 1994 – Calgary, Alberta
August 7, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
With great heartache, we announce the passing of our dear son, brother, father, uncle, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend, Kelvin “Kebun” Christopher James Rollinmud-Flemming on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the age of 30 years.
Kelvin was an outgoing, positive, and humble person who welcomed everybody with an infectious smile and warm conversation. He had a big heart and a hug for everyone he met, was free of prejudice, and had a wonderful (sometimes mischievous) sense of humor. It was because of these traits that Kelvin made friends easily and had friends everywhere.
As a young boy, Kelvin played hockey for Mînî Thnî and the Cochrane Eagles. He was a defenseman (goon). He also enjoyed skateboarding, being outdoors in nature, fishing, hunting, quadding, and he was an avid gamer. Kelvin relished travelling with his grandfather, the late Lloyd Bearspaw (Tootall Bare), to rodeos as a rodeo clown. In his teen years, he developed a love for rap music and learned how to freestyle, something he did well and loved to share with everyone around him.
Kelvin loved to cook and had dreams of going to culinary school. He appreciated his current position as a drywaller for large-scale buildings. He was a hard worker, and it showed in every job he was tasked with. One of his most recent milestones was travelling on a plane for the first time to visit a friend in the Yukon in July of this year.
Kelvin grew up in Mînî Thnî with his great-grandmother Ena înkushin (Gladys Bearspaw). After she passed away on August 7, 2005, Kelvin moved to the city with his mother Miranda Flemming. While in Mînî Thnî, Kelvin attended school both in Cochrane and Exshaw, then later in Calgary from elementary to high school.
Kelvin leaves behind his son Brody Rollinmud, daughter Serenity, and his common-law wife Jessica Cousins, mother Miranda Flemming, father Christopher Rollinmud, Buffy (John) who he took as parents, sisters Kaylee (Jay AG), and Georgia-Vee Rollinmud, brothers Ransley Flemming-Twoyoungmen, and Dakota Rollinmud, best friends Zack, and Michael, grandmothers Brenda and Charlene (Clarence) Bearspaw, and Roxanne and Amelia Rollinmud, grandfathers Ernie Labelle, Gilbert (Florene) Frances, and Xavier Vincent, auntie Kimberley and uncle Riel, first cousins Annisa, Riley, Summer, Jason, Matthew, Jayden, Madison, and Billie-Joe Rollinmud, Taylor Bruton, Hanson Bearspaw, Orlando Dixon, and Ozrick Bearspaw, close cousins Tyson, Gilmore, and Skylee Bearspaw, Pony Whitford, Jay Rollinmud, O’Riley Abraham, and many family members from the Bearspaw, Rollinmud, Flemming, Rabbit, Abraham, Bruton, and Twoyoungmen families. We do apologize if we have missed anyone.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Cleone Bearspaw, paternal grandfather Lloyd Bearspaw, great-grandparents Gladys and Roger Bearspaw, great-great-grandparents Hanson and Eunice Bearspaw, grandfather Marty Bearspaw, grandmothers Joyce and Beverly Daniels, Gwen, Winnie, and Evelina Bearspaw, Lily Poucette, Stanley and Clara Rollinmud, aunties Elizabeth, Geraldine, Georgia Vee and Raphilia Rollinmud, and Karen Abraham, uncle Stanley Rollinmud, uncle Moses Bearspaw, auntie Jade Marie Rollinmud, maternal grandmother Marion Desjarlias, maternal grandfather Robert Flemming, and uncle Larry Desjarlias.
