September 29, 1959 - Tsuut'ina, Alberta
Patrick (Pat) Kerry Crowchild, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the age of 64 years.
Pat was born on September 29, 1959, in Tsuut’ina where he spent his entire life. Throughout his life, he experienced many adventures with his family and many friends of all ages and walks of life. He was a proud and humble Tsuut’ina man with great faith who completed his Bible studies and was a member and founder of the Bridge of Hope organization for the unsheltered.
Pat often shared the saying “You have two legs and a heartbeat” and enjoyed walking everywhere he went; there was no excuse to not try to get things done when you have two legs to get you where you need to go. Pat was passionate about organizing events and initiatives involving his church, community, and those who needed the help. He also enjoyed camping and hunting with his siblings and family in his younger years and cherished all his children, grandchildren, and relatives. In his later years, Pat found enjoyment in music, singing, instruments, powwow dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He always had a good story to tell and laugh to share. He is now reunited with his late parents, children, and loved ones who he missed greatly.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family, including his five sons, Justin Crowchild, Allan Crowchild, Aldin Crowchild, Patrick Junior Crowchild, and Clifford Crowchild; and his three daughters, Michelle Johnson-Crowchild, Crystal Crowchild, and Angel Crowchild. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, Ashanti Crowchild, Nevaeh Crowchild, Victor Onespot-Crowchild, Keri Onespot-Crowchild, Kayzlin Crowchild, Tianna Crowchild, and Reil Crowchild; one great-grandchild Reil's son, three brothers, Alex Crowchild, Charlie Crowchild, and Neil Crowchild; and one sister Frances Crowchild-Jensen.
Pat was predeceased by his wife Aldina Crowchild, three children, Isaac "Old Man", Kerry, baby Patrick Crowchild, and baby Grandson Izayius Crowchild; as well as his mother Edith Crowchild (nee Bigcrow) and his father Isaac Crowchild; four brothers, Emerson Crowchild, Elliott Crowchild, Bradley Crowchild, and Allan Crowchild; and three sisters, Rita Crowchild, Irene Crowchild, and Jacqueline Crowchild.
The family would like to thank Pat’s best friend Jake Quezance, the Tsuut'ina Tosguna, and all those who have supported them during this difficult time. Your kindness and support will always be remembered.
"You never said I’m leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In life, I loved you dearly
In death, I love you still
In my heart, you hold a place,
That no one will ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.”
Pat Crowchild will be most remembered for his love, dedication, and unwavering spirit. May he rest in peace.
