Obituary of Flora Elizabeth Rabin

November 7, 1932 – Ponoka, Alberta

August 23, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Flora Elizabeth Rabin (nee Mackie). She died peacefully in the early morning of Friday, August 23, 2024, in Calgary at the age of 91 years.

 

Flo, as she preferred to be called, was born November 7, 1932, in Ponoka, AB. Flo was a devoted mother and a cherished member of our family. She dedicated her life to her five beloved children and their families. As a mother and grandmother, her wisdom, strength, and love were boundless.

 

Her children were her world, and everything she did was for them. She taught them the values of kindness, perseverance, and unconditional love. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the encouragement to try new things. She was a pillar of support, always there with a comforting word or a helping hand.

 

Flo will be remembered for her selflessness, her unwavering dedication to her family, and her ability to find joy in the simplest moments. Her legacy lives on through her children and the countless lives she touched with her generosity and compassion.

 

She is survived by her five children, Steve (Cheryl) Rabin, Debbie Goetjen, LeeAnn (Ken) Marchant, Mike (Heather) Rabin, and Joe (Shari) Rabin; her grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan), Matthew (Christine), Miranda, Katrina, Jolena, Chase, Logan, Jacob, Jade, and Jalyn; and her great-grandchildren, Nora, Ronan, Rebecca, and Oliver. Her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

 

Flo was predeceased by Lloyd Grieg, her loving husband of 25 years, and by her children's father, Raymond Rabin

 

In accordance with Flo’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
