Obituary of Bonnie Teare

Bonnie Teare (nee Day), beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the age of 72 years.
Bonnie was born in Arthur, ON, on November 24, 1951, to Borden and Edna Day. She attended Arthur District High School and subsequently graduated from Western University in London with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
In 1973, Bonnie and her friends Betty and Doreen moved to Calgary where she met her future husband, Gaylon Teare. They separated after 25 years of marriage. She worked at Marathon Oil and CIBC until her retirement.
After retirement, Bonnie enjoyed many activities, especially playing crib and canasta with her dear friend, Aurele L’Heureux. As well, Bonnie loved to travel. Her most memorable vacations were a trip to the United Kingdom with her sister Ruby in 2010, and to Hawaii with friends in 2012.
She will be most remembered for the love she had, for her family and friends.
Bonnie is survived by her former spouse Gaylon Teare, daughter Erin Teare, son Michael Teare, daughter-in-law Megan, three grandchildren, Kalen, Harper and Hudson Teare; sister Ruby Day, sister-in-heart Betty Teare, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Bonnie was predeceased by her brother, Gary Day and her parents.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
