Obituary of Jacqueline Alice Murray

September 7, 1939 – Sarnia, Ontario

August 25, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Jacqueline "Jackie" Murray, beloved wife of the late Albert “Ab” Owen Murray, of Calgary, AB, passed away in her home on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the age of 84 years.

Jacqueline was born in Sarnia, ON, on September 7, 1939. She married the love of her life, Ab on October 27, 1973.

Jacqueline accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her 30+ years of service with Calgary Co-op Deer Valley. She had a passion for sharing stories and helping her coworkers and customers, many of whom became lifelong friends.

She will be most remembered for her smile and dry wit, often leaving everyone laughing.

Jacqueline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Dee) Murray and Chris Jordan of Calgary, AB; and her son Monty Murray of Calgary, AB. Jacqueline is also survived by her four brothers, Albert, Robert, Douglas, and Richard; her four sisters, June, Dorothy, Rochelle, and Nancy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jacqueline was predeceased by the late Albert Owen Murray, her parents, William Hornbostel and Vera Jean Risk; her sister Patricia, and her two brothers, Thomas and William.
