Obituary of Frances Lavina Dionne

March 1, 1929 – Carstairs, Alberta

August 22, 2024 – Port Alberni, British Columbia

Frances Dionne passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the age of 95 years.

She was born in Carstairs, AB, to Gladstone (Slim) and Mabel Fenton. Frances had a deep love for her home and garden, spending countless hours on her deck, surrounded by flowers and birds, and treasured visits from friends and family. She eagerly anticipated her annual trips to Vancouver Island, where she enjoyed fishing and reconnecting with relatives. One other favorite pastime was going for drives, especially in the spring, where she delighted in spotting animals and their babies.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Mabelyn (Bill), Gayle, Gladstone (Charlene), and Joy (Randy); her five grandchildren and their spouses; five great-grandchildren and their spouses; one great-great-grandchild, and many cherished relatives and friends.

Frances was predeceased by her beloved husband Alf Dionne in 2020, her three siblings and their spouses, as well as her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and their spouses.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
