Condolences
I did not know your father, but as part of the research on my 100+ year old home, turns out he is part of the history of my house! His signature is on the electrical contractor permit dated Feb 2, 1961.
Condolences to your family, I wanted to say thanks to Jack for a job well done!
Dear Caswell Family,
I rented the basement suite next door to Jack and Mildred for about 10 years during university and working reception at Foothills Hospital from around 1983 to 1993.
I have fond memories of Jack puttering in his yard and garden, and helping Derk Paul and I to fix up the basement suite. I remember watching in suspense as Jack changed the kitchen light fixture, calmly handling LIVE bare electric wires. Jack helped us to change the lineoleum, build a new fence, and allowed me to garden with abandon.
Jack and Mildred were caring landlords who helped me to work while getting my degree, by providing a welcoming and affordable place to live. They also allowed us to have two cats and never complained about Derek’s hours of trumpet practice out in the garage.
I remember your parents with fondness, their caring, Mildred’s immaculate red manicure!, and how proud they were of their children.
Sincerly Corrina (Pacholko) Ligertwood
