Condolences
I worked with Lawrie through two shows with the Mimico Showtimers back in the 1960’s. Bye Bye Birdie and Guys and Dolls are outstanding memories of my youth. He was a superlative stage and musical director. I will always remember the hours around the piano learning lyrics and harmony. His insights into stage business were phenonmenal. I’ve done a lot of theatre since and have used all the tricks his experience was able to teach. As a drama teacher, I’ve done my best to pass them along. Knowing him was a definitely a high point in my life.
Dear Mrs. Elion, Marg, Derek and family:
I remember spending many hours while growing up in Etobicoke, ON. drinking tea and watching soap operas after school with Marg and her mom. Mr. Elion was such a distinguished gentleman and I was very interested in his participation in the theatre. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. I’m sure there are many great memories to draw on and give you comfort.
Suzie Irwin (nee Fowler)
