I was sorry to learn of the death of Ruth Hyslop. We were friends through the Canadian Federation of University Women, Calgary, where we enjoyed the social and intellectual stimulation of the meetings and the walking group.

I send my deepest respect to the entire Hyslop family and especially to Ruth although to me she will always be Mrs. Hyslop. Her influence on me was monumental – my friendships with Mark and Allan and Andy were the best part of growing up back there in the 60s in the old cowtown all under the watchful eye of Mrs. Hyslop who did not suffer fools gladly and who was the best person possible to have in your corner.
