Obituary of KING – Shirley

March 7, 1946 – October 9, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley King on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the age of 64 after a short battle with lung cancer. Shirley was born in Newfoundland and moved to Calgary, AB in 1994. In 1998, she moved to Irricana, AB where she spent nine years. She has lived in Central Butte, SK for the past three years. Shirley’s greatest passion was her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Shirley is survived by her common-law husband Gordon Hougard. Shirley leaves behind her daughter Valerie King; son-in-law Steve Storbakken; son David; and grandchildren, Mykayla, Saydee and Zachary. She is also survived by her sisters, Winnie, Mazie and Viola; brothers, William and Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at Irricana United Church (P.O. Box 128, Irricana, AB) on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
