Obituary of BLAIR – Verna Sue

October 5, 1952 – September 26, 2010 Sue Blair, beloved wife of Geoff of Calgary, passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the age of 57 years. Sue was born on October 5, 1952 in Elrose, SK to Vern and Joy Nickell. Sue spent the majority of her life living in Cranbrook, BC. Sue’s main focus in life was to look after and care for her family. Nothing pleased Sue more than to have all of her family together under one roof. Her main role was to give amazing advice and love unconditionally. She excelled at both. She enjoyed the simple things in life like drinking a good cup of coffee, reading the newspaper, attending live theatre, and a good laugh with her loved ones. Sue fought her illness with dignity, courage, and a large amount of humour. We hope this serves as inspiration for others dear to her when they are faced with challenges in their lives. Besides her loving husband Geoff, Sue is survived by daughter Meghan Clark; son Brett Clark; her sweet cockapoo Finnigan; as well as family friends and family members in Cranbrook, BC. In Sue’s words, “Nothing ever stays the same, not the good and not the bad.” A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Dr. Tremblay’s research at Southern Alberta Cancer Research Institute, 3280 Hospital Drive, Calgary, AB T2N 4Z6. There are so many people to thank within the Calgary Health Region that helped to make Sue’s life comfortable. We especially would like to acknowledge Dr. Alain Tremblay for trying his best and always looking for a solution to the problem.
