Obituary of KNIPELBERG – Donald Wayne

April 2, 1940 – September 16, 2010 Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our father, uncle, brother, and friend, Donald Wayne Knipelberg (Don), on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the age of 70 years. Don was given the “gift of life”, a heart transplant in 2005, but unfortunately succumbed from complications of cancer. Don is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Robyn and Rick Levasseur and Melanie and Will Burgess; two grandchildren, Kyle Mckee and Tara (Dustin) Hanson; three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Jade and Adyson Hanson; loving sister and best friend Barbara (John) Cosby; nieces Terry (Joe) Manning, Lori (Dan) Swainson and Rhonda Dolny; great-niece Amber Dolny; great-nephew Levi Althouse; step-niece Jessica Harwin; special aunts, Dode Karslake of Penticton and Lil Black of Moose Jaw; cousins in British Columbia and Saskatchewan; as well as many friends and co-workers. He touched the lives of all who knew him. Don was predeceased by his mother Betty Coates; step-father Bill Coates; father John Knipelberg; and his son Michael. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Ogden Branch #154 (2625 – 78 Avenue S.E.) on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
