Obituary of WRIGHT – Delbert Roger

September 13, 1927 – September 8, 2010 It is with sadness we announce that Del passed away quietly at the Chinook Care Centre on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 just shortly before his 83rd birthday from the cancer that he had lived with for many years. Besides Mary, his wife of fifty-six years, he is survived by his daughters Carol (Dennis) Arneson and grandson Keagan of St. Albert, Deanne (Al Cole) Wright of Toronto; brother Don (Carrie) of Calgary and several cousins. Delbert was born in Bittern Lake, AB and shortly after the family moved to Turner Valley where he obtained his early education and work experience in the oilfields. Del and Mary were married in 1954 and in 1959 Del graduated from the University of Alberta in Petroleum Engineering. He joined Hudsons Bay Oil and Gas and spent his working career with them and successor Dome Petroleum until his retirement in 1984. Following retirement he enjoyed travel, golf and volunteer work with the Drop-In Centre. He will be missed by his many friends and remembered for his dry humour and love for his family. Funeral Services will be held at Lakeview United Church (3023 – 63rd Avenue S.W.) on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
