Obituary of BIRNEY – Frederick Fred Kenneth

July 4, 1943 – September 6, 2010 Fred Birney, beloved husband of Helen of Bowden, AB, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at the age of 67 years. Fred was born in Calgary and raised in Paradise Grove, now known as Fish Creek Park. He married his best friend Helen in 1967. Fred loved to fish and hunt, then later in life took up golf. As of a few years ago dancing became his passion. Fred loved all animals. Since 1989, they have been farming in the Bowden area raising Hereford cattle. Fred is survived by his wife Helen, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Keon and Angela Birney and Kevin Birney, and two grandchildren Heather and Jarred, two brothers and six sisters. Fred was predeceased by his parents Ruth (nee Shaw) and Walt Birney and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
