Obituary of LEA– Mary Elizabeth

July 17, 1950 – September 5, 2010 Mary Elizabeth Lea of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the age of 60 years. Mary was a third generation Calgarian who lived here for much of her life. In her younger years, she was an accomplished and dedicated rider and show jumper and her love of horses endured well beyond her days in the saddle. She was an avid student of literature, an engaging conversationalist and a dear friend and confidant to many. Her unconditional love and support to friends and family, her love of laughter, her compassion, enthusiasm, and patience were hallmarks of an extraordinary lady. What Robert Burns wrote of another was as true of her: “But to see her was to love her, love but her, and love forever.” We did, we do, and we will. Mary is survived and deeply missed by her daughter Ms. Jacqueline L. Stone; son, Dr. Gregory W. Stone and their families; as well as by father Dr. C. Spenser Lea; and brother Mr. Brent Lea. She is also survived by her long standing friend Mr. Gordon Waddell. Mary’s life will be celebrated at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, September 13 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
