Obituary of McGIVERN – Hugh

December 1, 1922 – August 15, 2010 Hugh McGivern (Paddy), beloved husband of Mrs. Irene McGivern of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the age of 87. Born December 1, 1922 in Newtownards, Co. Down, N. Ireland, Hugh served in the RAF (WWII) and after that worked at the CPR in Calgary until he retired. He loved fishing, his dog Darchan and his native country Northern Ireland. Hugh is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Irene; his daughter Marilynn; grandson Darrin Hutchinson (Kathy); granddaughter Chandra Keith (Donnie); and four great grandchildren Chelsea, Kyle, Kila. and Tyhler. He is also survived by his brother George; sister Sheila; and sister-in-law Breeda. Hugh was predeceased by his father; mother; and brothers, Ted and Seamus. It was Hugh’s wish that no funeral service will be held. Family members will celebrate Hugh’s life at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
