Obituary of JACOBSEN – Oscar Tommy

May 21, 1937 – August 13, 2010 Tom Jacobsen beloved husband of Arta Jacobsen of Calgary, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the age of 73 years. Tom was born in Bassano, AB and raised and attended school in Brooks, AB. He worked in the construction industry with his father for many years before he married Arta in 1958. He continued in the construction industry until moving to Calgary in 1968. He enjoyed many years in construction and sales while at the same time was an active member in the Hereford Association. Tom enjoyed watching and playing many sports, and being a season ticket holder of the Edmonton Oilers, he enjoyed watching the team and their five Stanley Cup victories. He was also an active hunter and fisherman. Tom is survived by his loving wife Arta, three sons and a daughter, John and Paytra Jacobsen of Vernon; Jay and Addy Jacobsen of Poza Rica, Mexico; Jana and John Hughes of Calgary; Jim Jacobsen of Drayton Valley, nine grandchildren Chad (Sara), Nicole, Jesse, Brooke, Matthew, Michael, Matthew, Melissa and Reggie. He is also survived two brothers, Bob Jacobsen and Jim (Joanne) Jacobsen, two sisters Carol (John) Barbour and Janet Jacobsen, Arta’s brother Fred (Teresa) Finley and Arta’s sister Carole (Don) Vernon. Tom was predeceased by a sister Susan Brown and a brother Mike Jacobsen.
