Obituary of RUSSELL – Elsie Christine

August 28, 1934 – August 12, 2010 Elsie passed away peacefully and with dignity surrounded by her loved ones after her courageous battle with Cancer. She was an extraordinary lady who touched so many lives with her kind and gentle ways, compassion and laughter. Elsie was born in Humboldt, SK, then found her soul mate Bob and they married in Calgary, had their son Bob and daughter Johann. They moved every few years between Calgary, Estevan, Edmonton, Edson then retired to Sooke, BC and finally settled in Campbell River until Bob’s death, after which Elsie relocated to Calgary where she started a fulfilling calling working at Bethany Care Centre, bringing care, companionship, love and compassion to many. Elsie lived a full life dedicated to her beloved pets and her family too! Elsie’s passions were spending quality family time, long walks, dancing, being on the ocean, touring the States in their custom bus, laughing and visiting with friends recounting wonderful memories. On behalf of our family Bob, Johann, Shawna, Rudy, Kristin, Ashley, Virginia, Ryan, Michael and Nicole we sincerely thank you for to all for your prayers, love, friendship, kindness and assistance. Your love was a blessing to our beloved mother. God grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change; COURAGE to change the things I can; and the WISDOM to know the difference.
