Obituary of MUDRY – Helene Charlotte

December 18, 1918 – August 4, 2010 Helen Mudry of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the age of 91 years. Born in Reidewitz, Germany, Helen sailed unaccompanied to Canada at the age of ten at which time she settled with her uncles, who farmed near Magrath in Southern Alberta. Helen had tremendous perseverance and experienced many wonderful adventures throughout her lifetime. She worked until the age of seventy four, and spent most of her career as an executive assistant to senior executive in the oil, sporting goods, graphics and restaurant industries. Following retirement, Helen was a dedicated volunteer with the Children’s and Colonel Belcher Hospitals. She loved music, books, travel, movies, cooking, Tai Chi, gardening, nature, and her many dogs, cats and birds she owned over the years. Helen is survived by her son, Gerry, and their beloved little guardian, Dexter. She was tremendously proud of Gerry’s long and diverse career in music and immeasurably proud of the musical “band of brothers” so dear to her heart: Gerry, Danny, Gord, Bob, Jim and Bob W. Helen would also send her love to her other boys Tony, Loyd, Bruce and Wayne. She would send loving thoughts to her dear friends Eva, Netta and Marg and her gratitude to loving friends, Betty Labrosse, Lillian Jones, Robert and Anne Byrne and Walter Gooder. Helen would wish to express her gratitude to Bill and Muriel Gillott and Ettore and Maria Della Penna. Deepest gratitude to the wonderful and amazing staff at the Rockyview General Hospital and Helen’s dedicated caregiver, Mary De Maere.
