Obituary of DANIELS – Edna Eileen

September 15, 1914 – August 3, 2010 Miss Edna Eileen Daniels, beloved sister of Mrs. Alice Clewett of Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, passed away on August 3, 2010 at the age of 95 years. Edna is the daughter of William and Mabel Daniels who predeceased her in Calgary in 1966 and 1972 respectively. In addition to her sister, Alice, she is survived by nine nieces and nephews, Dr. Hartley (Rose) Daniels of Bethlehem, PA, Mrs. Gwen Code of Calgary, Mr. Frank (Jeane) Smith of Sidney, BC, Rev. Lynette Kent of Edmonton, Donald (Adele) Windrum of Lethbridge, Stewart (Donna) Windrum of Red Deer, Mr. William (Susan) Clewett of Milton Keynes, England, Mr. Philip (Liz) Clewett of Reading, England, and Mrs. Margaret Taylor of Newport Pagnell, England. She is also survived by many grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, L. J. (Jack) Daniels; and two sisters, Gladys Smith and Mabel Iris Windrum. Edna was born in Ceylon, SK in 1914, and moved to Regina with her family in 1922 where she lived until going to England with her parents and sisters Gladys and Alice in 1934. The family settled in Stony Stratford, England where she was employed as a draper’s assistant and developed her skills as a seamstress. She returned to Canada in 1954 and settled with her parents who had returned to Calgary in 1948. Edna was employed as seamstress at Florabelles Ladies Wear until her retirement. A memorial service for Edna Daniels will be held at Royal Park Manor (4222 Sarcee Road S.W.) on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Lynette Kent, officiating.
